In case you guys haven't heard, Activision is experiencing MAJOR drops in sales and has fired many many many many many many many many many people. Guitar Hero is dead, the company has been laid off, so is freestyle games (The company who made DJ Hero) and the True Crime revival game Activision has been planning was scrapped. They are facing tough times, and many gamers wanted this, but why? They may be guilty of milking their franchises to death, but that doesn't mean every once in a while that milk tastes too damn good! (Bad analogy) But they have taken a hit, and Harmonix has officialy one the war on rythim based games. However, Call Of Duty is stronger than ever, so don't expect any negative news about layoffs to Treyarch (Infinity Ward on the other hand....)

So what do you guys think about this? Good? Bad? Do you already miss them?

Well if it helps (which it won't) they have announced a slew of licensed titles including a Family Guy game (Oh joy  ) a wipeout game (COUGH Doritos Crash Course COUGH) a new X-Men Origins, and a few others. So look out to the future....

...... But was it worth it?

Yes. :D

I personally have a deep hate for Activision, one that makes me love Microsoft in comparison. They really don't seem to care about the people who play their games as much as they do about the money they make.

Check out this list. I've gone up and down this page 3 times over, and The Movies seems to be the only game I can find that I legitimately enjoyed. There are a few games I found to be acceptable, but that's about it.

Oh, and in case you're thinking I haven't played enough of those games, here's a nice little list:
Spoiler
Some games I liked, some games I didn't, but ultimately, I've found it to be a continuous cycle of "meh."

Even if you're a fan of the Instrument Hero and Call of Duty series, you have to admit that Activision's game archive is like 3/5ths a "games that guarantee money" list.

Ironically, the folks who make rockband are the same ones who made the first two guitar heroes.
Rockband is still going strong whereas the team that picked up guitar hero floundered and drowned.

Reminds me of how the Medal of honor allied assault guys broke off and made Call of duty, then proceeded to wipe out any significance medal of honor might have had in the early 2000s and onward.

I think it's good, I hate Activision too. I don't think their new games will be more innovative than every Guitar Hero and CoD games, but well, this can't be worst.

Call Of Duty is stronger than ever
a Family Guy game

The future sounds so wonderful.

Really, I didn't think they could make Family Guy look any worse.

After you stick enough bad things together, it eventually becomes awesome.

And that's how "B" movies were made.

I remember the first two Guitar Hero games were really fun to play with friends, but after releasing the third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and so on, they just got really repetitive, and plain stupid. I too have a bit of a hate for Activision, so I'm sort of happy they're starting to have some trouble, but I do feel sorry for all the people layed-off. The last thing we need is more unemployed people.

I really dont give a second thought to this, there gone and its not like no one else is going to try to make a guitar hero remake and some other company is going to continue cod.

19 Guitar Hero games in 5 years to be exact, that's a lot xD

Of course this is sad for all these people though..

Maybe now they can stop trying to milk franchises and start on new and innovating titles.
