I eat Burger King three times a week and my doctor says I'm probably going to live to be over 100.

Cholesterol is actually NEEDED to live a healthy life, but just as everything else (Example fat) too much is bad.
There is also more than 1 kind of cholesterol.

Actually, if anybody wants to hear a few arguments on obesity stuff, and doesn't mind watching a TV-MA show, I recommend the obesity episode of Penn & Teller's BS.

Not all cholesterol is bad.
There are two main types of cholesterol that you might have heard of often: HDL and LDL cholesterol.
HDL cholesterol is considered to be "good cholesterol", and you need it to live.
LDL cholesterol is the bad one, and that's the stuff that should be limited.
I'm not too sure about the cholesterol-lowering drugs. There's many different types, with different methods of lowering LDL cholesterol and different side effects.

It just shows how quick people will get scared of something if it has anything to do with science. Because every scientist is a frankenstien...bah.
