i've looked through all the message stuff and it won't let me pm anyone, which i need to do in order to inform someone that my old account doesn't work or let me change my password. sorry to bother again

It's probably because you haven't gotten 5 posts approved yet.
Just go ahead and make 2 quick posts (it doesn't matter if you just double post right here) and I'll go ahead and approve them. After that, you should be able to send private messages.
