Just played against a guy who was going through his characters to play. All level 1-10. Didn't really have a lot unlocked.

But he had a Level 99 Battle Block Theatre Character. It looked like this guy.

Did I miss something on this or did I just see something I probably shouldn't have?

He was hacked in, which totally isn't allowed. But yeah, it's been happening for a little while now.

Well, I mean, it's probably going to be an actual character. It just isn't available yet.

That's exactly what it was supposed to be. Sadly, some players hacked the game and got Hatty before they were supposed to. Talk about ruining a free gift from The Behemoth.

Perhaps some day The Behemoth will be interested in putting some info about Hatty on CastleWiki. Till then, you won't find anything about him there.

Hatty, along with the Golden Whale animal orb and 5 other weapons, are part of a DLC package named "Can't Stop Crying Pack". This package is granted (for free) to anyone who purchases BBT.

Unfortunately, since CC's last update in August 2011, some players have edited their game data via HEX editor. Doing this unlocked the character and spoiled the surprise for most of the community.

Hatty is in the PS3 version of CC, but we haven't seen him yet as that data cannot be edited via HEX editor (as far as anyone knows).

Me and my buddy aced211 found a little glitch that shows Hatty's head in place of your own character's head for a split second.
I may be wrong, but I think if his head is in the game, I'm sure the rest of him is too.

Hmm, not sure I'd believe that. This hasn't happened (to anyone's knowledge) on the PS3. Then again, it might not be reasonable to compare PS3 glitches to XBox ones.

The only way some players got the Golden Whale animal orb (aside from hacking) was by being a former Level 256 player, and beating the game with the Pink Knight. For some reason, this unlocks it. I'm not too sure why.

well i do have a few friends that got the whale without 256 but i think they just knew someone online who had the whale and switched out pets

If you try to switch animal orbs, the one you want will just shake and reject you, as it's locked.

I think there's an exception to this, though--if you're on a level where you can acquire said Animal Orb, you can swap it freely. For example, if you dig up Chicken on the Medusa stage, all characters can freely swap it between themselves. I'm not sure if this would be possible if someone brought Chicken to the stage with them, though. And I'm also not sure if you can swap Animal Orbs purchased at Shops.

You're right about switching between the ones found in levels. I actually did that to help a friend find all the Animal Orbs.

But, you cannot trade Animal Orbs purchased at any of the Shops. Each individual must buy those for themselves.

So if I play with a friend who has the whale. And we go to the forest and he picks up the Owl Orb. I can run over and get his Whale?

Golden Whale has no additional stats, but, it does occasionally poop out 1 gold. I think it's like every 30 seconds or something.

I can't stand hackers that do that crap. If you want to hack, fine, do it, but keep it to yourself. Hatty being hacked into the game ruined an amazing surprise for many, including myself.

No, it still rejects anyone but yourself
