Update 5: Infinite Wisdom is here!   10/05/2017

Hey everyone, We’re back with another update that really mixes some stuff up. An entirely new challenging mode, a rebalance of the entire game to go with the rework of the new leveling progression numbers, ability to do the co-op intro online, faster PVP rounds, language translations and more! With the rebalance you’ll find that your fighters are dealing even more damage as they gain experience. All balance changes are retro-active meaning you do not have to worry about starting over or starting new characters in order to experience that – they’re all dynamically applied to what you already have! Feel free to check out what we’ve changed in the list below, and as always – please leave us feedback about anything you find noteworthy. As always, the main Story (although not included in this update) is being developed alongside all these improvements we have been releasing. Check out our blog for the full changelist: http://blog.thebehemoth.com/2017/09/28/update-5-infinite-wisdom-is-here/

Not sure if you all are being serious or not, but I think the best way to get a girlfriend is to not worry about girls. It's a pretty common statement, but most girls have TONS of guys approaching them so they're used to being, I guess 'hit on', pretty frequently. I know there are some guys who wish they had the confidence to go out there and compliment every girl they walk past, but the truth is if you have time to do that so frequently, then I imagine that the women you're trying to gain the attention of sees that you don't have much going on for yourself. I'm not saying anyone here does that, but from me observing my surroundings everyday I see this happen quite often. Become the best you can be and always try to show your best efforts. That way you won't have to do all the chasing...I will admit however, it's always best to get the practice of socializing with people you find attractive and who catch your interest, and it doesn't always have to be someone you have to try dating. A wise comedian once said, "You don't wait for the one, You practice for the one." It has multiple uses of course, but for this moment it's more on socializing. I may not have ever had a girlfriend in the past, but that doesn't mean I've never had the opportunity. And I'm better at making friends than I'd like to believe. By the way ignore Pick-ups Artists, those guys will steer you in the wrong direction.

Hi! So this year I am a senior in high school and you know what that means...senior quotes! I really wanted my quote to be from a Behemoth game and ended up settling for "When life gives you potatoes, you make potato salad" from Battleblock theater's Buckle Your Pants song. Ignore my bad yearbook picture XD but yeah thought I'd share that here!

Oh my god, this was my 10 year old self attempting "custom characters". I had zero knowledge of Photoshop and had only ever spliced together Pokemon sprites in MS Paint. I don't know if it's good or bad, but the images seem to be long gone so I'll never be reminded of just how bad they were.

I just started playing Final Fantasy XIV. I wish I had more time for games these days, because I really love the world, and I want to get to the Stormblood stuff. I'm also playing Injustice 2, which is great. I really wish more games had the unlockable breadth that this one does. I suck at fighting games, so it gives me something to do other than be miserable online. I recently had to buy Overwatch for the second time. I had been on PS4, but for work reasons, I needed it for PC. It's a good game, but the community is getting too salty for my taste.

I briefly couldn't use my consoles so I've been playing Etrian Odyssey 3 on my DS. I've had it for a few years, so I'm glad I finally got around to properly playing it. It's surprisingly engaging even though there's not really any plot and it plays like a SNES game.

Play all of them to the point where you can't dedicate enough time to get really good at any one of them individually, like me. You'll end up painfully average at everything, but at least you'll be able to beat your irl friends at anything they think they're good at. btw SFV has a free multiplayer beta going on this weekend if you have a PS4 & PS+ or a PC good enough to run it. Since its free, it might be worth a shot even if you don't enjoy it by the end. The DLC situation isn't as bad as the internet says it is. The costume DLC is overpriced, just like every other fighting game with costume DLC. Its expensive but you don't need it to play. The character DLC is fairly reasonably priced though imo, and even though I haven't spent any real money on SFV I've still managed to buy 4 of the 8 DLC characters released so far with in-game money, with enough to buy a 5th when I want to. (but KoFXIV & GGXrdRev are both awesome too so idk man, whatever you pick you'll probably enjoy)

P2 is pretty good too, even if it is significantly different from 3-5 (granted, I'm a sucker for late 90s and early 2000s JRPGs). Also, I highly recommend playing 3-5 in their order of release. I want to finish 3 and 4, but going back to them after 5 addresses almost all of my problems with them will be tough. Anyway, I'm still playing Persona 5. I'm a little over 50 hours in, and I'm still enjoying it quite a bit. I've got some gripes with the dungeon system, but I've had those since P3. I'm trying to decide which fighting game I want to get into next. The only one I'm good at is SoulCalibur, but 5 came out 5 years ago and they still haven't announced a sequel. Tag Tournament was the last Tekken game I really enjoyed, and I have the newest BlazBlue but that series is on its last legs. Street Fighter V feels like active theft with all the DLC, and I'm not very interested in MvC. Both Guilty Gear and KoF's latest versions are coming to Steam soon, so I'll probably go with one of those. (Why am I so picky)

tbh if I weren't already a fan of the series I don't think I'd be playing it right now. I miss the linear, well designed encounters and tactical depth of the previous games, but running and gunning in the multiplayer horde mode is more engaging this time. Andromeda does have a lot of good content, but to get to that you have to put up with a lot of glitches.

I'm still playing through Breath of the Wild on the Switch. Everything that needs to be said about that game has already been said, although I don't see enough praise for the environment design in it. I was totally blown away when I realized you can see just about every main objective in the game from the first tower you get to. I'm enjoying every minute I have with the game and I'm glad it's taking me so long to finish it. Yikes dude, I feel bad for ya I've been watching my roommate play it, I absolutely love the visual style and the gameplay looks really fun too. It might be the game that pushes me to buy a PS4.

Sounds pretty interesting. I'll add to the list for the next time I'm in a sci-fi mood, which might be kinda soon considering that new Ghost in the Shell movie is just around the corner (which I'm still undecided on. I watch trailers and think maybe it won't suck, but then I think of all the live action anime adaptations that have failed spectacularly). The shows I'm watching at the moment are DragonBallSuper, Gintama & Gundam. DBS is great at the moment, it had a really rocky start re-telling the movies with worse quality, but has only gotten better with each arc since. If you like dumb comedy and well-animated fight scenes I definitely recommend watching the newest arc. Gintama just finished up its 2017 run, which was only 12 episodes. If you know Gintama, you'll know that its a comedy/action series known for its adult references and occasional 4th wall stuff, however this latest season (and the latter half of the previous season) have been more dramatic, story-heavy affairs. Jumping in now you won't find much to enjoy (except some good animation towards the end of the season), but if you've been watching the series for most of the last decade you will find a lot to enjoy. Watching mostly comic characters (that have had a lot of serious moments over the years) play in something as tragic and world-changing as the current arc is a treat. It's a shame the series will probably be coming to its end over the next couple years :c. And then there's Gundam. I thought it was high time I got into this series at the start of this year. I had no idea where to start, but since I had watched most of Gundam Wing a few years ago, I started with another Gundam series created around the same time, with similar animation and dubbing: G Fighter Gundam. Without going into a lot of detail about the show, I'll just say its definitely a product of the era it was created in. Lots of harsh stereotypes, flashy animation, and DBZ-esque fight scenes. Its dumb and you have to switch your brain off to get through most of it (it certainly isn't something I can recommend to everyone), but if you just want to watch a bunch of Gundams punching each other (in some well animated battles) I'd say give it a look. Since I finished that up I've been watching Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans and its much closer to what most people think of when they think of Gundam; lots of politics and deep story split up with large-scale mech battles. Good stuff.

Been almost two months since anyone's posted in here... now I know yall weebs are watching anime, so you better share what you're watching or else Personally, I recently finished watching a show that got recommended to me called Kaiba. It's a hi-fi sci-fi show about people who store their memories in data chips and can transfer them between bodies. It's trippy as all hell: the visuals are wild, the environments are surreal, and the technology is very fantasy-like. Kinda reminded me of Space Dandy. Overall I liked it. I give it somewhere around a 8/10 (the show starts very strongly but suffers from Death Note syndrome where the last few episodes get kinda messy) but I can easily recommend checking it out if you want something that's psychologically heavy to depress you but also looks rad.

A couple suggestions related to how much is shown on screen and the focus. We generally play this on the 'big screen' projector and have not played on a small(er) PC monitor but it would be great if - The whole field were shown - especially during the battles. Perhaps a zoom setting. Right now the follow-along/resize is a bit annoying. Especially with two players (most of our play time) the focus seems to follow player one. Could not the 'default view' after a battle sequence include all active tiles/characters? I would be ok with showing the whole field by default and the zooming in as needed. Now it is zoomed in and you have to 'sweep' out to enlarge the view. I can see where this is advantageous for small screens but for large screens is annoying. I enjoy the game and my son (9) is really having a good time. This would make it much better. As a side note - I see you are leveling/adjusting the damage and will see how that is. Right now I feel that damage is too low / battles too long by a 1 or 2 rounds. I don't want any weak characters to die in the first round but now it seems it is 3 or 4 rounds before the first kill which is too long as the stronger take a further 4++ rounds to kill. Maybe it is just because we are early (level 16 is highest character) and have only had a few die in combat, so there is no sense that we might loose and have to replay the level/quest/battle.

I know this is a turned base game and all but can you please reduce the time of the turns for PvP ? some matches go for so much longer than it needs to. People love dragging out the games it just becomes very frustrating to play and almost makes you want to leave even though you're clearly winning.

(Haven't seen any suggestion of the sort in the forums, sorry if one exists.) I really enjoy PvPing in pit people. I however find it difficult / long to find an opponent, mostly due to the low population of the game. (at the time of this message) If you guys played banner saga : factions (the stand alone pvp of the banner saga), they had a rather similar population issue. The way they fixed it is by implementing a "pop up" banner on screen for all players in town once a player started queueing for pvp. I think Pit people could benefit from a similar system, maybe even allow out of town people to "quick travel" back to town to engage in the arena. Again, love the game, keep it up Behemoth (y)

Hello! This is the first time ever doing posting on "blogs"? If my topics seem more like ramblings then call me a loser, but that's now why I'm here. I have quite a few ideas that I'd like to share and maybe one of the developers maybe...kind of...notices my goals...?? Right on task now. I can't remember completely, but I do think that Tom Fulp said that all the games they have released are in the same world. This is shown clearly through content in Pit People, as some hats/helmets are that of the barbarians and bandits from castle crashers. That being said, reusing old characters can in fact bring this game just a bit further in playable characters. I took a step back and will make this simple, I'll list off characters and will go into detail after the list. 1. Barbarian boss 2. Bat boss 3. Fish people Those are the only solid ones I had in mind or really think have potential. 1. For starters, I imagine the barbarian boss to be built just like the troll mother. He would cover three slots, a triangle hit box, and move two spots a turn. As for defence, I feel like he'd either be a meat sponge, sucking up damage like the troll mother does. However for some reason I think he should have a deflection factor like the mushrooms. Without a doubt, he will have a helmet defence making maces effective against his head. Now for basic attacks, I see his punch to be his close range attack. High damage with the cyclops fling effect. This is the special part, the barbarian boss should have his own set of weapons. Either being a giant metal sheet that could block tons of projectiles or a cup for his liquor. Trying to word this carefully, the vampiress thing has the ability to fly an extra distance if you hold down the movement button or mouse. What would make him special would be if you had a certain weapon. The spiked plate would have him smash down and do a troll flip to himself. This would be spiked damage and a small chance for stun/snare which would be great against tons of vampiresses. Much like vampire- Calling it that because I'm tired of spelling it wrong- this would cost the barbarian boss health each time he does it. As for the liquor, it would do the same but hit all enemies in the way with fire damage and possibly leave fire on the ground just like the pixies. I hope that was simple and easy to read. 2. Two slots, one space one box. This character is much more simple then the barbarian above. The bat boss will be flying so no snares, and might heal after every attack. That would only happen if it's a blood sucking bat. Since I didn't develop or make that bat I cannot tell if it would leech. For it's special properties, say it moves three spaces and every space is passes a smelly poop was dropped behind. Like the spidtuar's? web, this would be a great way to wall off enemies unless they'd like to be hit and poisoned. I could take a few stabs that say...lightning or ice would be it's weakness though. If surrounded it could do his lick attack which would be like the mushrooms attack but this will actually hit everyone around its spot. That would do low damage of course. 3. Those fish are the enemies before fighting the gorgon from castle crashers. one slot, one hit box. I claim that this idea of a playable character would be water kobolds. On the ground they'd cover three spaces or less but they can pass through water spaces like people trying to get in a store on black friday - not that I would know. As a bonus, I believe that they should do bonus damage to anyone they attack while in the water. For damage though, I say that should do just a bit more then zombies which as far as I see do five or six on a single blow. I can be wrong about what people want damage to be in this game but bonus damage on a seven or eight is good enough for me. If not in melee range, they would spit those bubbles like the gorgon but will do less damage because it uses one slot. This last attack is very optional for a single slot character. The fish has this air lunge attack, I suggest that being in as well. It would cost health to do, but I think if they're standing in water that it shouldn't cost health because...fish. They would aim randomly at an enemy that is two-three maybe four spaces away and when hit causes the enemy to bounce up and land randomly near by. Maybe to balance this out the fish is stunned next turn. So those are just some ideas I spat onto the keyboard. If you're bobbing your head saying,"Yeah that makes sense!" then do something, ok? I do hope that people out there have their own ideas and feel that if they're includes into this alpha game it would make it even better. Please share, I would like to be inspired if your ideas are someone similar with mine.

This is kinda random, but I think there should be a Retro Pack, featuring the 4 main Knights, identical to the originals except completely retextured in blocky, low-res 8-bit style. They should also add a series of 8-bit weapons and maybe a pet or two. Some more cross-over characters too. Super Meat Boy would be amazing. However, the games been out a while now... I doubt there will be any more releases
