Castle Crashers is Coming to Steam!


A Poem by Dan Paladin:
While BattleBlock has been churning,
there's another wheel turning!
And that wheel is Castle Crashers running on Steam!

It was accomplished by utilizing one of our programming teams!
We always liked this platform so it's kind of a dream!

I'd say a release date but the future's unknown.
If I make a mistake I shall never atone.

Castle Crashers Steam Features:

Gamescom 2012
We were invited by Valve to show Castle Crashers running on Steam at Gamescom. This is our first time at the event, and we’re sending our very own John Baez to the show all by himself! Stop by and check it out at Hall 7.1, booth: C030 (Friday-Sunday, August 17-19).

Finally, we’re going to our last summer trade show: PAX (Penny-Arcade Expo) on August 31st – September 2nd in Seattle, Washington. Come by The Behemoth Booth #3003 to check out both Castle Crashers for Steam and BattleBlock Theater. You’ll get a taste of the games, and more importantly a taste of freedom, FREEDOM!!!!!!!!

can you please put text chat in the game as well? we don't use voice chat, and it would be nice to be able to talk to my friends while playing without resorting to MSN, like how we had to do while playing it on the Xbox. generally all online PC games have integrated text chat, so i would like CC to have it a well.

Will I be able to use an PC Xbox controller for the game?

Also I will be creating a group dedicated to finding others to play online with as soon as I figure out how. I'm not sure if I should call it Masters of Castle Crashers or keep Feedle's Pelter's Revenge.

Would the DLC packs be inputted like you did in the ps3 version or will we have to buy them? King, necromancer, pink, and blacksmith (possibly hatty?)

I bought an Xbox just to play CC...

Really? I remember for the longest time seeing it at #1 on the marketplace, and asking friends if it was any good. They said it was decent, so I never gave it a second thought. When I realized Castle Crashers was made by The Behemoth, that piqued my interest. I played the demo, called mom right after I finished the demo, got MS points, and played the game all night long lol. I don't even know if Castle Crashers was on PS3 when I first played it on Xbox, but I guess that's beside the point.

Or, better yet, allow for fully bindable keys. That way we can really customize our controls.

Change magic and item around. It would be anoying to accidently use a potion when in the middle of combat when you still have almost full health.

Hopefully they introduce a few basic PC gaming options like allowing us to reassign keys, some advanced video options with support for high end resolutions, text chat, etc. Mod support would also be amazing.

Did anyone by any chance check out their booth at gamescom? I couldn't find any news on anyone covering their booth.

Seeing as I feel like getting my hands dirty with some 3d modelling and texturing work, who agrees with me there should be some Castle Crasher's hats for purchasers (maybe like pre-orders or something?). I'm thinking of making it like a mask for all characters and maybe making some melee weapons based off the game as well. I will put them up on the Steam Workshop and link here within a few days if I finish them by then What do you people think?

well, i really want it to most definitely have options for changing resolutions, vsync, text chat, etc.

i would be disappointed if it didn't. so please make sure you make it an awesome PC version, The Behemoth!
