Update 5: Infinite Wisdom is here!   10/05/2017

Hey everyone, We’re back with another update that really mixes some stuff up. An entirely new challenging mode, a rebalance of the entire game to go with the rework of the new leveling progression numbers, ability to do the co-op intro online, faster PVP rounds, language translations and more! With the rebalance you’ll find that your fighters are dealing even more damage as they gain experience. All balance changes are retro-active meaning you do not have to worry about starting over or starting new characters in order to experience that – they’re all dynamically applied to what you already have! Feel free to check out what we’ve changed in the list below, and as always – please leave us feedback about anything you find noteworthy. As always, the main Story (although not included in this update) is being developed alongside all these improvements we have been releasing. Check out our blog for the full changelist: http://blog.thebehemoth.com/2017/09/28/update-5-infinite-wisdom-is-here/

Do I need a gold account now? Or can I purchase it when the beta comes up? I don't feel like spending money on a 3 month right now.

Just registred. Been waiting to play BBT FOREVAH! And is it literally you have to be in the first 10,000 registrations or is there some sort of choosing process? Because I'm pretty sure I made it in the first 10,000. Anyway really looking forward to this, can't wait for this beta!

Hear ye, Hear ye! We call volunteers for our BattleBlock Theater Closed Beta Test! We have 10,000 fresh backstage passes and we're not afraid to give them out!! Do you want one? Can you smell it? Does this delight you? Are you not entertained?

BackstagePass.jpg

Will you sit idly by and watch as your friends do battle amongst each other!? - Cue the important information :

  • This is a closed beta.
  • Beta testing will take place in February or March, 2013.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to participate. Under 18? Then you’ll need to have your parents help with registration.
  • Registrants must have the following: A working Xbox 360 with a reliable internet connection, Xbox LIVE Gold Account and a Behemoth forums account.
  • Individuals should register after reading all documents under Required Reading and be sure that they can fulfill the Prerequisites.
  • 10,000 registrants will be selected to participate.
  • Registration is ongoing until all beta codes have been distributed.

Are you interested? Okay! Here's what I require from your person: You will need to read all the documents in the required reading section and be able to fulfill the prerequisites to qualify;

check out all the beta details and fill out the registration form HERE.

2013 will be the year of BattleBlock Theater! Or BattleBlock Theatre! If that's your flavour.

P.S.

Anyone registering a new forum account will not be able to change their profiles right away.

"Users fall under the new registration group permissions until you have made three approved posts. We limit the features for new registrations to prevent spammers from flooding the forums with advertisements. Newly registered users will be able to reply to topics, but the post will not be visible until a moderator has approved the post. Once you have three approved posts, the system will automatically change your group permission to the active member permissions. Members are able to post, create threads, create polls, vote on polls, use private messages and change their profile & signature."

This might sound like a childish question, but if you were to participate, do you really have to do all of the tasks such as writing down error messages? Everyone in the comments below seem so mellow about it, forgetting that they might have to write a paragraph of code :| .

We don't write the code, we report things and make suggestions on how to make the game better, basically.

I seriously can't wait for this beta, even if I don't get in (I still really want to play the beta though) because it proves to me that this game is growing and advancing.

It even said in the task list that we have to write down error messages, which would be considered code, right?

There is a selection process with a bit of luck involved.

You aren't required to write code, but you will need to take note of what error messages you may or may not get. For example, "You could not join the match because you were unable to connect to all consoles." Please be aware that we DO NOT want you to try to play just to force these messages to appear. Play as you'd normally play, but if they come up then take note of it and let us know in the survey we send you. We want to see it in a "natural" setting.

Ok, thanks. One more thing. Do you HAVE to be on every day to participate in various events? Can you just be on when you can?

When you register, you agree that you'll be able to complete the tasks on the Beta Testing Task List, including following the schedule: http://www.thebehemoth.com/beta/BattleBlockTheaterBetaTestingTaskList.pdf

The reason we ask players to do those tasks on specific days is because we want to focus on one area at a time. Of course, if you've finished the tasks for the day, Beta Testers are free to do other areas that aren't listed for that day.

We may have recommended times for the schedule, but as long as you complete the task on the day of then it should be okay. This will be explained more to Beta Testers before the testing period.

Is February 19th a guaranteed date yet? I really want to play this beta on my birthday!

So, to be clear, you must be online for enough time to complete a task/the tasks for each day, and you have to be online for every day that there is a task to be completed?

Here's hoping I get to join the lucky peeps who get into the BBT beta. I've been keeping tabs on the game ever since it was first announced and am pretty excited to see that its finally coming out this year! (It...is coming out this year, right?)

This will be fun if I get in. Also what will it say when we are playing cause if it say battleblock theater beta I think I would get constant messages from my friends asking me how I got.

Was kinda curious about this myself, anyone have a definite answer?

Yup! It shouldn't be more than 1.5 hours each day. Like you saw on the task list, a lot of it is just trying out the arena modes or story mode online.

Yeah I'm definitely getting in on this. I Can't wait to find all the bugs and exploits!

Right?

..Right?

If you happen to find something strange, then yes! We'd want to know about the issue and you would need to post in the PRIVATE BETA FORUMS (Not the public forums). However, we don't want people to play to try to break the game. The main objective is to see how the online gameplay is and what issues may arise in a "natural" setting. So you would be expected to play as you'd normally play.
