Did this game used to be called Game 3?
Yes, Game 3 was the codename we were using when we hadn't announced BattleBlock Theater's true name yet!

Can I play this game singleplayer? Is there a story/campaign mode?
Yes you can play singleplayer! Yes, you can play story/campaign mode by yourself or with a friend! The levels change if you're alone or with someone, so the challenges are tuned to match!

Can I play this game online/offline?
Yes! You can play multiplayer co-op or team versus modes, both online or offline.

Tell me about this story!
Having shipwrecked on a mysterious island you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals. All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems. Please see our trailer for more details! You can see the first two story moments


Can I customize my character?
Yes. You can choose your head shape, face for that shape, weapon/utility and team color.

Can I unlock stuff?
Yes. Hundreds of Characters, lots of weapons, can be unlocked.

Are there difficulty settings?
Yes. Both Normal and Insane difficulties exist. In Regular difficulty, you will have unlimited lives and spawn around where you died. In Insane difficulty, you will have 0 lives and the level will reset upon death.

Can I see unlocks?
Yes, we've released a prisoner sheet here:

How do I unlock things?
You can free prisoners with Gems you've collected in campaign or arena, and you can unlock weapons/utilities with Yarn to bribe the armory cats.

How many players/gameplay modes/faces/weapons/head shapes/levels/hours of gameplay/people online?
Sorry, anything with a number for an answer is not being answered, as things can change!

April 03, 2013!!!!!!

How long has BBT been in development?
To date, we've worked on BattleBlock Theater for about 4 years. That's about 6 months more than Castle Crashers took to develop.
