Castle Crasher's lore/story?

Recommended Posts

Guest gamerkim28

Is there an official stance on the lore/story of Castle Crashers? I've always been wondering (being the nerd that I am) what kind world its set in, history of it, etc.

I know the basic story: Evil wizard steals some crystal and princesses and these 4 special knights are there to save the day.

I want to know stuff like why the wizard wanted the crystal AND the princesses, are the princesses the actual daughter of the King, what's up with the orange princess (actual princess or fake?), character and enemy relationship, etc, etc.

lol, looking back at my post, it makes me realize how big of a nerd I am for this game.

Edit: Alright this is what what I make of the story so far. Warning a crap load of text!

1. There are four special knight. (Who are they, why are they chilling, etc)

2. Suddenly the wizard attacks the kingdom, steals the crystals (why?) and princesses (the King's daughters, but why did he need them?)

3. The 4 knights set out to get the crystal and rescue the princesses.

4. Barbarians everywhere! Thieves too! (Are they henchmen? Are they even with the wizard? Also are they thieves on the same side?)

5. You sort out the mess. (They leave Red Princess, wonder why?) They chase after the other princesses.

6. The orange princess got sold (did she?) to a wealthy Industrialist (Why?)

7. They chase through the forest. Run into the massive troll (What the hell is that doing there?)

8. Run into Bears and Catfish. (Again are they with the wizard? Or doing their own thing?)

9. Thieves give princesses to ice king and cyclops. (Why?)

9. Batcave (Again with wizard?)

10. Crash the conehead's wedding.

11. Cyclops is sad and takes princess. (Is it a female or a male sad over his best friend? I never understood that)

12. You kill cyclops and rescue green princess.

13. You go to lava area to meet the necromancer, fire dragon/demons/boss, and get a relic. (Reasons?) Necro raises the cyclops.

14. You go to the Wealthy Industrialist. Industrialist and Fencers galore. (What are they doing there?) Defeat him. He tries to go off with Wizard, but no dice. (Is it because he failed his part or was screwing up the wizards plans?)

15. Cross the Sea and meet the Ninjer. (Are they a independent party? With wizard?)

16. Cross Desert and run into Aliens. You escape. (Obviously a nod to their first game, but any other reasons?)

17. Crash land and lost in the desert.

18. Defeat the Royal Guards and Saracens to get a map of the desert.

19. Stuck in the swamps, you go to a graveyard and see some people in trouble. Necro is doing bad stuff. (why are the wizard and necro there?)

20. Help them out with an evil corn. (Did the wizard plant it there? Natural enemy?)

21. Get a horn that lets you into the swamps.

22. Snakey and spear fish. (Alliance between the two are known, but why was it formed. Are they for the wizard? Also what's their relationship to Medusa? There are several stone snakeys and spear fish so is she bad? Are they trying to stop the knights from going into danger? Protecting Medusa?)

23. Make your way though Full Moon and Ice Land.

24. Beat up Ice King. (Relationship to Wizard?, etc) Get blue princess.

25. Wizard Castle: Painter (who the hell is he?), revived cyclops, necro, and Wizard.

26. Get back crystal and orange princess.

27. The WTF Orange Princess Clown thing.

Obiviously you can see that I see all these plot holes and questions. So if you could help me out, that'd be great! lol

There are still many questions I still have on top of these. What the are those slimes in the caves? Also how are enemies related to one another? (if I didn't already wonder in the timeline thing above.)

Lots of people are nerds for this game. It's just to cool a game to pass up :).

As for story, there isn't really anything set in stone. But we do have some very creative people on these forums, maybe they can lead in the direction of some discussions!

Another interesting point: in Theives Forest, you can make out baskets of fish. In Tall Grass Fields, there are plenty of fish nets.

Here's the story:

A king's magic crystal gets stolen by an evil wizard, who turns most of the surrounding creatures and humans against the kingdom. He goes to Volcano Town to fetch the Necromancer, who he knows will provide extra protection if the knights ever get to his lair. The knights eventually do make it, and proceed to kill the wizard and his minions.

Exactly, and not even that! Question like how are they related to the plot for (character I may add) pop up with I see them on screen. Just the other day I wondered why the Wizard allowed the orange Princess to be sold (at least that what it seems like to me) to the Wealthy Industrialist, only to get her back. How did he choose about who got the princesses and why? (And that's just one character in the game)

Yeah... I'm a big "what if" and "why" person. I can split hairs over anything I'm remotely interested in.

Edit: Also Babbity_Rabbity, I did state I knew the basic story. I just want more though.

They are the Kings daughters per numerous sources. There is also an explanation for the Orange Princess but someone will have to help me out, and you will most likely be disappointed (nothing really deep, e.x. a "what the" moment or not what you expected from someone your supposed to care about).

LOLWUT?

Alright, I'm going to assume that the King's had multiple wives (beautiful ones at that seeing as how the princesses look). EXCEPT for orange princess's mom. Gotta wonder what happened there.

To be honest, it seems like it was left intentionally ambiguous. Castle crashers is on arcade experience with a little bit of story added on- which consists entirely of plot devices to move the game forward. You're not supposed to care why these knights are saving the princesses or why the wizard wants the big stone thingy, its about fun. Which is why the story is basically the same fun experience when playing through with different characters, and why the original four knights faces are never seen.

I kinda figured that as soon as I went through game. It's just I was HOPING that there might be some sort of backstory. You know?

Castle Crashers is not that kind of game that you really twist your brain with the story. Heres what you need to know-

-Some guy took your crystle

-All four princesses are sold for ransom

-It's your job to randomly kill anything you see, and blow half of it up

That sums it all up :D

Dangit, I had like all your questions answered then accidentally closed the page... :(

Guess I'll start again...

BTW a LOT of assuming is going on, and guessing, and things I've been told...

1. There are four special knight. (Who are they, why are they chilling, etc)

Trained to defend the castle/princesses/crystal/king in a state of emergency, they're chillin cause nothing bad's happening...

2. Suddenly the wizard attacks the kingdom, steals the crystals (why?) and princesses (the King's daughters, but why did he need them?)

To be the supreme ruler of everything/destroy everything...

3. The 4 knights set out to get the crystal and rescue the princesses.

To save the princesses and to stop the wizard from being the supreme ruler of everything/destroy everything...

4. Barbarians everywhere! Thieves too! (Are they henchmen? Are they even with the wizard? Also are they thieves on the same side?)

I think, barbarians are henchmen cause they love to fight, and the thieves love the money I assume they're getting paid...

5. You sort out the mess. (They leave Red Princess, wonder why?) They chase after the other princesses.

I think the wizard either trusted the barbarian to kill the knights, had no one else to leave her with, or wanted to test the knights power.

6. The orange princess got sold (did she?) to a wealthy Industrialist (Why?)

Probably so he could have a wife... And the Wizard allowed it so cause it helped him...

Aight, I'm gonna get off, and I'll update this in a bit...

I can answer to only one of your questions:

5. You sort out the mess. (They leave Red Princess, wonder why?) They chase after the other princesses.

Notice that she is closer to battlefield than green, blue and orange ones. Thieves steal 3 princesses for their own profit (they sell them to Industrialist, Cyclops and Ice King. However, we know only why Cyclops bought one, nothing about Ice King's and Industrialist's reasons.) but they could not take red one away without being noticed

maybe barbarians are mercenaries pîd by the thieves, and that's why they give all but one to them.

I think all goes like this:

You start in a party were a gray knight came crashing the door by barbarian, you go through the door and see the king being kidnapped by the evil wizard,

The wizard stole his magic crystal and commanded the barbarians to kidnap the princesses, the evil wizard collects crystals to have unnatural powers to take over the world when he gets the enough

ammount  of crystals and also the barbarians listen to him because he is mightier than them and thats how people used to command people in the medieval times. So back to the story, the king send all his knights to bring him his daughters and including his 4 special knights, you fight with some barbarian in the barbarian war and then you fight the barbarian boss, at the time you fight you can see all of the princesses tied up to a wooden pole, they get stolen by thieves except for the red princess because they forgot to steal her to, so you only get to save the red princess. Then you follow the thieves into a forest and they start attacking, the fighting noice started to wake up the forests troll and his wifi, first you defeat his wife and then the forest troll gets mad and starts chasing you inside a barn, you escape and land in a river. You fight some frogs and then the evil wizard commands a bear to kill you, the bear tames a giant catfish and fights with you, you destroy him and then you crash on an island, the gray knights start building tents and catapults to survive, the king starts to make a plan, you fight with bears because you have entered their island and not because they are with the evil wizard. Then you go inside a cave and fight some slimes and the mama bat, the slimes and the bat are also not  with the evil wizard and they attack you because they want to suck your blood. Then you fight bees and 2 beekeepers, because you stepped on the flowers that the beekeepers have planted. Then with your made catapults you catapult yourself to a wedding, the evil wizard gave one of his sons the green princess to marry, his son is the conehead groom who is an expert on playing pianos. The conehead groom commands his  gaurds to destroy you, you defeat the conehead groom and then his son the cyclops comes out of the toilet and cry's because you killed his father. He gets the princess and runs on the wedding carraige. You throw your self onto the carraige and the carraige takes you back to the forest. You battle some coneheads on the carraige and then the forest troll comes back to take his revenge on you with some theives who also want revenge. You defeat them and go inside another cave were the carraige has crashed and the cyclops ran away with the princess. You fight dome more thieves and coneheads witch are with the cyclops and some slimes because they want your blood. Then you go to the cyclops's fortress and fight the gaurd conehead who was reading a newspaper. You fight some more coneheads and then you come to the cyclops. The cyclops wants to kill you because you killed his father but you kill him and then you go to lava land. The evil wizard also goes to lava land and petrifies some people and then he teams up with the necromancer for extra saftey of his world destruction plans. You fight with some dragon people because they are with the necromancer and the necromancer is with the evil wizard.  Then the necromancer turns the petrified people into skeletons and they attack you because they are with  the necromancer and the necromancer is with the evil wizard. Then you fight with a dragon that wares a sock puppet because you killed his dragon people. You defeat the dragon and get the golden wheel, then the evil wizard hires a prince and you go to his kingdom and fight with his fencers. Then you fight with the prince, you defeat the prince and he runs away with the orange princess to the evil wizard. The evil wizard gets the orange princess and leaves the prince betraying him. You kill the prince and get the golden telescope. Then you go to the blacksmitha nd get the golden compass and with these 3 items you hop on a ship. On the ship you fight some pirates and ninjas who want to conquer you as slaves, you defeat them and your ship lands in a desert. You fight some anticepedes because they want to eat you. Then you fight some royal guards who guars the sand castle, and you fight with some beetles because they are with the evil wizard. Then you have to fight aliens that want to steal the tops of piramids and are weirdly building something big!!! They kidnap you and put you inside some jail bars, you escape from the jail bars and see 3 aliens investigating the sand castle, the alert sighnal goes off and you fight witha lot of aliens, then you break another jail bar and a big beefy jail escaping alien escapes out of his jail and activates the self destruct button, you have 1 minut e before the ship self destructs itself and  you escape in a safety pod. You land on the desert again and fight some saracans that want to rob you. You also fight royal gaurds that are gaurding the sand castle. Then you see a  saracan on a lama running away to the sand castle to alert the people inside the sand castle about you. You kill him and go inside the sand castle and fight some royal gaurds and saracans because they are protecting their castle and you need to go through it to track down the evil wizard. You defeat them and play a volley ball game wich they are good at playing and they challenge you that if you win they will give you the map to the evil wizard. You win and then go to the marsh to get a horn and open the  gates to the medusas lair. You fight some skeletons wich the necromancer brought to life and then some peasants help you. Then you fight some Snakeys because you have stepped on their lands and then you fight the corn boss because the peasants helped you and you return the favour by killing their enemy the corn boss, then they thank you and give you the horn wich you use to open the gates to the medusa's lair. Then you fight some fishmen  and snakeys that gaurd the medusa because the petrifiesd fishmen and snakeys are the ones who went on her. Then you defeat the medusa because she wanted to kill you for interuping her when she was brushing her hair. Then you go to the rocky places and fight some dark knights because you stepped on their lands. Then you go to the snowy area to fight some iicekimos beacause they were told to kill you by the ice creatue and the ice creature is one of the evil wizards closest minions. Then you save the blue princess and then you go to the evil wizard interior were you first fight with some of his little minions and then fight the evil wizards official painter wich killed the real orange princess and painted a clown instesad of her. and then you fight the revived cyclops and then you fight the necromancer and then you finally fight the evil wizard were he uses his crystal powers to kill you but you destroy him and then you return to the king with your mission accomplished. the king becomes proud at you and gives his daughter to marry you.

No, I don't think there is an official storyline, but I made one to kinda go with the game. There were two brothers, a wizard and a knight, once the brothers came across a dark spire the wizard, foolish enough to believe the spire would grant him power absorbed its power. The wizard was overcome with greed and anger, then the wizard had a great battle with his brother, whom was checking on him to make sure he was okay, during the battle the wizard grew stronger as the knight grew weaker, so the knight retreated to form the kingdom the Knights live in, my theory on the Knights' powers are they came from different places, like the blue one cam from the snow kingdom, the green from the marsh, the orange from lava world, and red the industrialists castle, another theory I have is that before red was a knight he was the main source of electricity for the industrialists (the enemy). Anyways back to the story, the would be Knights found the castle and joined the kingdom. Now you might be wondering, hey what was the reason for that crystal, well I think the Wizards good feelings are trapped in there, but the wizard doesn't know that, that's why the battle with the wizard isn't as hard as you think (though he has like 74 forms they are easily defeat able by some way) it's because his good feelings are battling against him. Why are the barbarians and thieves attacking you? We'll pay attention to the barbarians names. They don't know and better! The wizard manipulated them into hating you! And the thieves? They are doing it for the money! Did you not see their town? They are a poor people doing what is needed for their survival! The princesses? For leverage!!! They want to make sure the king won't try anything! Why didn't the thieves grab the red princess? Well they didn't think it was necassary, because they were running out of time! The bosses? Manipulated! I think that this helps in the creation of the storyline for a AWESOME game, but hey that's just a theory, a FAN theory, Thanks for reading
