Pit People – by The Behemoth The Pit is the place where our story’s heroes get a fresh start in life! It’s basically what you and I know more commonly as an arena. As you may remember from our announcement trailer, the story starts off right as the giant bear from space shattered the planet… Through the chaos, Horatio, Pipistrella, Yosef, Sofia, and Gluten have found each other. They’ve formed a team to conquer each untimely obstacle. Pit People was the name written on the original concept sketch that started it all. Every interaction took place in an arena. Over time, adventuring became a big part of the game. However, a key moment in the story now occurs in the Pit, and so the name remained! In the end, we’re in the beginning!!!!!!!!!! Oh! Now that we have a name we can have a website!!!!! Look at it!!!!!!! Join us in the Pit!

So, as some people around here may know, I do a lot of buying of bundles of games and whatnot, especially Humble Bundles. I usually have at least a few of the games in these bundles, and often have some to give away. Instead of the hassle of asking individual people if they want whatever, I decided to make a thread to appeal to the entire community. This thread is going to be dedicated to giveaways of games I have extras of from whatever source. I will bump this thread every time I have games to give away from this point into the foreseeable future. The rules of this thread are as follows: 1. Don't be mean. If you own the game, don't take it to sell it or whatever else. Only ask if you intend to have it in your library. 2. Limits. I will limit games one per person, under certain circumstances (such keys not being claimed and someone wants it) I will give out keys to people who have already received one. This rule only applies per batch of games. Each new batch is another chance for anyone to get one game. 3. Be polite. If things get out of hand, I will end up just locking this thread and not doing anymore giveaways, so please be polite to both me and your fellow community members. 4. Don't request in thread. Please, please, PLEASE don't ask for a game in the thread. If you do, I WILL ignore you. I will ONLY give games via PM, not in the thread itself. "But Pocket, how do I get these free games?!" Good question person I just made up! The way you get a free game is I will post a list of keys I have available. First person to PM me gets the key and I'll cross it out on the list of games. I will not respond to every person who PMs me, only the one who gets the key. Keep in mind, I am an adult and I do work. So don't expect an immediate answer. If I have not replied to your PM, check the thread to see if your game is still available. If it is, then just send me another message, I do make mistakes sometimes. If the game was taken, then that's probably why I didn't respond. On the off chance I have a second code in a batch (I have friends who buy bundles as I do, and sometimes get spares from them, or if I'm feeling generous, I'll buy a second bundle) then the normal rules still apply, except instead of the first person, the first two people to PM me will get a code. Simple as that. Now that all the rules are over, time for the fun! ---------- Batch of 6/10/15 ALL GONE! Batch of 7/28/15 ALL GONE! Batch of 9/10/15 ALL GONE! Batch of 9/27/15 ALL GONE! Batch of 9/30/15 BETA EDITION ALL GONE! Batch of 10/7/15 ALL GONE! Batch of 10/15/15 Batch of 11/25/15

Hey guys! This thread's about to get upgraded because it's not just an art thread anymore! This thread shall also serve to share games I've made! Space Stars, a.k.a. How to Waste Time (2013) (Click here to download!) This game was made in a single evening after I got really pissed off at Cookie Clicker and decided the best way to show those pesky kids was to make my own boring version of it. This game (and really, every game I've made except one) was made in GameMaker Studio. I did all of the programming in GML, designed the UI, and I even made all of the art for it... except for a picture of some ugly kid that somehow found its way into my game. Feel free to download it by clicking the link above, or if you'd like to watch some gameplay of it so that you don't have to suffer through it yourself, here's our very own DroppedYourPocket playing it! Unnamed Number-Guessing Game (2013) This game is the only one I've made so far that wasn't created in GameMaker Studio. This game was created using Java for a community college class I took in high school. The game is very simple: a random number between 1 and 10 is selected, and the player (that's you!) must guess the number in three tries. Luckily the game helps you out by giving you three hints, but watch out! One of the hints is lying to you! Use simple math logic to figure out which hint is false and then guess the number based on the information you have! Even though it's a really small command prompt game, I would love to be able to share it, but unfortunately it's much more complicated than GameMaker projects since you have to install certain things to run Java programs on your computer. If I figure out a way to distribute it, I'll be sure to do so. Pon's Adventure (2014 - ???) Embark on an epic adventure as Pon, the servant of a dark king who's been tasked with collecting Four Sacred Fruits that grant extraordinary powers. Your duty is to return to the dark king's castle and allow him to conquer the world using the power from the Sacred Fruits, but fate chooses another path! You will betray the evil king, eat the fruits yourself, and use their special powers to overthrow the king and return peace to the kingdom! It is a tale of justice, glory, and Mega Man-inspired gameplay! On your journey you will explore 6 different levels, face several bosses including the Four Guardians of the Sacred Fruits, cross paths with rival character on his own quest for glory, utilize fantastic powers such as throwing fire and generating an explosive plasma shield, and ultimately restore the balance of the world by defeating your corrupt ruler! This game started as a project for my Electronic Music class in high school. The task was to create music for a video game concept and then create a powerpoint slide pitching your idea to the class. I decided to build a prototype for my game, drawing art and designing the UI and programming enemy AI and creating a level on top of composing the music (and adding sound effects). After completing the project, I decided I wanted to make it into a much larger game. Since my close friend was really interested in the game and my music composition skills were far inferior to his, I enlisted my friend to compose the soundtrack for the game while I did everything else. Currently the project is in limbo because my partner and I both entered college before the game was finished. It is still my largest game, but a cool game isn't worth anything if it isn't finished. Perhaps it'll be picked up again someday. Here are some screenshots you can check out though! (Please note: these screenshots do not accurately reflect the final product) Grey Matter (2015?) This game also started as a school project, although this was the final project for my Design for Media 1 class in college. The task was to create a monochrome (black and white) animation that displayed examples of design elements and principles. Once again, I decided to make a game. Grey Matter is a 2D platformer where you play as a nameless protagonist who must find his way through a confusing black and white maze. The design elements are illustrated through the gameplay mechanics: each level introduces a new mechanic based around a certain design element. For example, the first level focuses on patterns, and the player must be able to identify patterns to locate invisible platforms and progress. So there might be a row of 3 evenly spaced platforms followed by a large gap; the player has to be able to realize where the pattern of platforms would continue and jump across the gaps using these invisible platforms. Other design elements include symmetry, contrast, rhythm, and value/opacity. This game met the same fate as Pon's Adventure, unfortunately; after submitting a demo build, I tried to continue the project and make it something greater, but ultimately I don't think I have the motivation to finish it. I really want to be able to, but my recent work on it has felt uninspired and I don't want to make something that I don't feel happy about. I don't want this to die completely though, so feel free to check out this gameplay trailer of the demo version I sent to my professor. It doesn't include everything I was able to make, but it demonstrates a lot of the different ideas I put into the game. Let me know if you like it and maybe I'll be inspired to finish it someday! Note: I do not take credit for the music used in the trailer! The music is "Intro" by Slime Girls, for the artist's Vacation Wasteland album. You can download it for $5 here (it's some really good music) Space Stars Ultra (2015?) This logo was made by Morg! Thanks Morg! At last, the long-awaited sequel to the classic best-seller Space Stars! Yeah! Space Stars Ultra takes the exciting clicking action of Space Stars and adds an entire quest to it! Whoa! Now you can explore the cosmos and take down massive baddies while you rack up that Star Power! Radical! And now there are special stars that give you amazing powers to gather even more Stars! Gnarly! And guess what?! It'll be free! Acceptable! Can you collect all of the Space Stars? Can you defeat all of the evil enemies in the galaxy? Are you a bad enough dude to rescue Ronnie click the mouse button over and over without getting carpal tunnel syndrome? Note: This game isn't finished yet, but I'm working on it in my spare time (time that isn't being spent on /v/ or getting tossed around like a chew toy in Dark Souls). I can't say for sure when it'll be finished, but I'll post updates here when I make significant progress on it! Here's a teaser screenshot! Somewhat tolerable! (Again, please note that this screenshot does not accurately reflect the final product) So those are the major games I've worked on so far. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in this thread or in a PM! Any feedback you wanna offer about what you see here is very much appreciated and it greatly motivates me to continue making games! (Yeah, even negative feedback! Go ahead and berate the crap out of me!) And if right now you're thinking "GoldenGhost I don't give a damn about these computer games, I wanna see some art," then screw you and here's another community anime pic:

Ladies and gentlemen, after roughly 8 months of toiling and obsessing over my designing, I can proudly present to you all my final playlist, Carnivore Carny. Carnivore Carny is a solo playlist, and it's chock-full of new ideas and puzzles that I'm sure will amaze (and potentially stump) even the most veteran of players. As for the playlist name, I found a newfound appreciation for Raccalopes over the course of this playlist's creation, and as such many of the levels feature them and force the player to interact with them in new and challenging ways. As such, the name Carnivore Carny only seemed fitting. So go ahead, give it a try, and see if you have what it takes to tackle the Carnivore Carny! I can't thank the Behemoth enough for making this awesome game, and the amazing experience I've had from playing it and designing in it, you all are the best. I can't wait to play your future games.

Heeeyyyyy! I'm Skylatron - part human, part alien robot. It's cool, my programming is pretty solid. Very few world-core meltdowns have occurred due to my technical glitches. Ahem, anyway... Super stoked to support this community in an increased capacity and getting to know you all more! (For extra credit in this thread: tell me one of your favorite memories from any of our games. )

Very nice, very nice! Your work has a very distinct youthful aesthetic to it, one that I can tell has had much practice put into perfecting it. The decision to make his mouth line extend further than the region of his face was especially wise, as was the creative genius behind giving him stick fingers on his bulky, muscular left arm and block-ish fingers on his longer and skinnier right arm. It really captures the essence of "Horatio" and breathes some life to your artwork. The only suggestion I can offer a craftsman of your prestige is to maybe upgrade from using what I assume is a mouse so that your future masterpieces can be all the greater. Maybe invest in a cheap drawing tablet or something along those lines. I used to have a Wacom tablet that I used and it was pretty good aside from a small amount of input lag between the drawing pad and the software. Not the fanciest out there, but you'd wanna keep it cheap to start with; you can invest in a more expensive one later on. Other than that though this is pretty flawless, keep up the good work!

Heya, everyone! Decided to post a few of my fan artworks on here. Though, I'm only going to post the ones that are(mostly) related to the official stories of the BBT/CC games. o3o Just to let you know, the listings are going to to go oldest to newest; while you can see the improvements and progression I've been going. One last thing, I don't take requests nor commissions. If I do, it would be extremely rare, and could happen at anytime. These are the art pieces I've worked on long before I got my tablet. >3> Just Hatty, plain and simple Hatty putting on knight armor Hatty in danger! Oh dear... Hatty's soul gets taken away by the hat Hatty walks into the BattleBlock Theater alone after ship crash Hatty and friends eating cookies! Yum... ... Now I want some! Corrupted Hatty firing the red laser These art pieces are the ones I made with my tablet. First tablet image of Reginald First(colored) tablet image of Hatty Looks like that Hatty made a derp! Oops... Hatty and Reginald are a little green... >3> Then again, it was St. Patrick's day. Oh dear, Hatty and Reginald breaking the fourth wall! Reginald stuffing his face with a slice of cake(BBT birthday and Easter) - Part 1 Part 2 Corrupted Hatty collecting a special gem Hatty and Reginald busts Corrupted Hatty sitting on his throne, looking at a special gem Bonus! Corrupted Hatty staring at you Hatty celebrating Christmas... A little too much? >3> Or maybe just want a kiss under the mistletoe? Last but not least, I had a little fun doing a crossover between BBT and Crypt of the NecroDancer... Somewhat. >3>; I've decided to post a couple art pieces that represents the characters from BBT, but not the official stories of BBT nor CC. I'll promptly remove this part if they're not allowed here... If they are allowed, I'll add in more! Also, there are warnings to indicate what kind of content the art pieces have... So, you've been warned! That's all I'm going to post here unless you guys want to see more. Though, the other pics I made doesn't represent the official stories of BBT nor CC... And some do have blood, death and maybe gore in them. Unless the pics I made are approved to stay up on here(or not), you can find them on my tumblr if you desire to see them. :3 Hope you enjoy the pics! X3 - Soldjermon

Recently, I've been playing as almost every character after not touching some of them since 2012. I wanted to make a tier list that is actually accurate as some are outdated to to updates, and some are just plain incorrect (like the castlewiki tier list) While this does have a little bias, most of it is 100% fact. Notes - This is based on PvE on insane mode; arena and normal mode are taken into account but have much less of an affect. The Necrosane fight has a higher impact than anything else, as it is the only truly difficult fight in the game. Elemental combo = XXXY/SSST. other needed clarifications will be posted here. Overpowered Tier (S - Rank) 1 - Blue Knight The Blue Knight is hands down the best character in the game. All of its magic freezes, including the elemental combo. This allows for an unbeatable advantage in any situation that involves normal or beefy enemies due to its freezelocking ability. 2 - Red Knight The Red Knight is the most overused character in the game, but that does not mean that it is not incredibly powerful. It has the ultimate crowd control, giving the ability to completely immobilize enemies and do 600 damage to them through the duration of the splash. It's very comparable to the blue knight as it has a focus on a stunlocking splash attack. However, the red knight has the 2nd worst elemental combo in the game (Gray Knight) and has an average projectile, as opposed to the other elemental knights. 3 & 4 - Industrialist & Fencer The two mechanical knights are completely identical, and are the two best boss killers in the game. They also can be used as a reviver/medic because their splash has more hits than any other, giving more time to safely res an ally. 5 - Iceskimo The Iceskimo is a modified blue knight. Its projectile and jump don't freeze, while the splash and (thankfully) elemental combo do. It can do most of the Blue Knight's freeze combos, but not all of them. However, it can still do things like start juggles with a magic jump and spellweave properly, making it arguably as good. Prior to a 2011 update it was incredibly flawed and the worst characters in the game. All of the top 5 characters are almost equal when it comes to how good they are, and any of the 5 can be an insanely OP character. 6 - Fire Demon The Fire Demon is very underrated and underplayed. It has a fast pillar splash magic and fire DoT on every magic attack. The pillars are helpful for starting juggles, and can clear a crowd very fast. The pillar magic is also an incredible boss killing magic style. The Fire Demon is the very best character in the game that is not insanely overpowered or make insane mode a joke to complete. Great Tier (A - Rank) Old Ranking for 7 & 8 I was VERY, VERY mistaken when I first rated these two characters. A1rPun brought me a piece of information about these two knights that I hadn't known before; Using the Turtle Combo + Tornado Splash attack, while inside the tornado, the characters are completely immune from physical damage except for being thrown by a beefy. 7 - Saracen As explained in the old rating, the Saracen is better than the Bear due to its projectile attack. The TurtleNado attack makes these characters the best in the game for arena fights, and it removes all worry of being hurt when you use the Tornado. They still do have some flaws, but for the most part, the TurtleNado can solve any of their problems. 8 - Bear This character's advantages are thoroughly explained above; its normal projectile simply is not as good as the Saracen's gust. 9 - Pink Knight The Pink Knight is a unique hybrid of many different characters, born out of fan demand; surprisingly it is an amazing character. It has a weakened version of the Blue Knight/Iceskimo's splash (~1 second freeze), with the range of the Necromancer's splash. It's projectile is a modified version of the bomb projectile (same damage + critical hit chance, but cannot destroy cracked walls - negligible) This character is very, very unique and it can be a very fun or very horrible experience, depending on how you use it. 10 - Brute The Brute and Snakey are the best boss killers in the game except for the mechanical knights. They are not played as very much due to their unlocking 'difficulty', and are both great characters. The Brute is slightly better than the Snakey because of the acorn projectile it has (mini explosive which hits multiple enemies if they are exactly on top of each other). 10.5 - Snakey The Snakey is covered in the Brute's section. It is placed lower because it has a throwing knife projectile, which is worse than the acorn.

A long time ago, I realized that there aren't very many of certain characters played as, I decided to find out which characters truly are overused and which are underused. I've been documenting my past 100 4 - player games, trying to get as big of a sample size as possible, and putting a tally next to a character each time someone plays as it... this led to 300 character choices, and I was surprised by what I found. These are my findings - Character Times Played As Red Knight 24 Skeleton 9 Bear 4 Blue Knight 23 Industrialist 13 Fencer 7 Orange Knight 28 Fire Demon 8 Ninja 6 Green Knight 13 Royal Guard 5 Saracen 6 Gray Knight 20 Stove Face 4 Barbarian 7 Beekeeper 0 Thief 9 Snakey 8 Conehead 4 Peasant 7 Civilian 5 Iceskimo 10 Brute 6 Alien Hominid 11 Hatty Hattington 20 Open - Face Gray Knight 0 King 7 Cultist 3 Necromancer 9 Pink Knight 10 Blacksmith 14 Most Played - Orange Knight; 28 Least Played - Beekeeper and Open-Face Gray Knight; 0 btw; Most people asked me 'Who is the black chain face guy?' when I was scrolling past the Beekeeper, it's a shame that nobody plays it, it's really good. Update - Saw my first OFGK in years. Recently, there has been 1 Open Face, 2 Reds, 3 Blues, and 2 Oranges. Take what you want to from this multi-year survey. I encourage you guys to do the same and post the results here.

Shigesato Itoi's words about Iwata will make you cry: When I’m parting with a friend, regardless of the circumstances, I find it best to just say, “See you later.” We’ll meet again. After all, we’re friends. That’s right—nothing unusual about it. I’ll see you later. You went on a trip far, far away, even though it was planned for many years from now. You wore your best outfit and said “Sorry for the short notice,” though you didn’t say it out loud. You always put yourself last, after you’d finished helping everyone else. You were so generous as a friend that this trip might be your very first selfish act. I still can’t grasp what’s happened. It feels like I could still get a light-hearted e-mail asking me out to lunch at any moment—after you’ve made sure lunch wouldn’t disrupt my schedule, of course. You can invite me out whenever you want. I’ll invite you, too. So for now, let’s plan on meeting again. You can call me up whenever you like, and I’ll give you a call, too. I still have a lot to talk to you about, and if I come up with any particularly good ideas, I’ll let you know. So let’s meet again. No–I suppose we’re already meeting. Right here, right now.
