And I don't understand why on earth a new console is needed. The PS3 hasn't even been pushed to the limits of it's possibilities yet, so you'll be good with that one too for a while. Plus, the internet still is quite bad in lots of regions, costing them lots of customers. I've already had 15 friends of mine selling their PS3 for a Xbox360, even though that internet costs every month. 15 of my friends, that's about 66% of my friends. Doesn't sound that good.
So, let's assume, they make a new PS, able of even more crazy things, higher quality, more in-depth gaming and better gaming overall. Sounds all great, but if their servers already have problems with these bandwiths, how on earth are they going to handle even bigger ones? They might kill online gaming for the PS3 even more if they keep this up.
I've had my fair share of consoles, especially looking at my age. I've played about every console ever made, as long as it's worthy naming and I can see how the industry has changed over the years. High-def has became the standard, instead of pulling out original stuff. Consoles haven't went that way, but if they won't start prioritizing properly, they can make the prettiest console ever, but it won't even be playable, because the rest of the functions are overtly outdated.
