http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRj5x7AaJW8 In case you haven't heard, a remarkable indie fighting game is going to be released tomorrow (4/10 on PSN and 4/11 on XBLA). It is a purely hand drawn 2D game, something us Behemoth fans can appreciate! The art style personally reminds me of Scott Pilgrim, which is a win in my book! Admittedly, I was turned off at the worn out concept of an all-girl fighting game cast. That changed when I saw Mike Z, the lead programmer (also a tournament player) interacting with the Fighting Game Community to actively improve the gameplay. What resulted from this communication can only be described in one word: "clever." -Pausing the game only occurs when the start button is held for 15 frames. No accidental pauses mid-match -The game restricts unwanted jumping when it detects a complete 360 motion -Custom assists that can be selected with any attack input! -GGPO netcode -Infinite detection system. Only the versatile need apply! -Fair variable battles -Intensive tutorial mode that explains pretty much everything. The game will be $15 on PSN or 1200 Microsoft spacebills! Gameplay footage:

What game are you playing ATM?

I'm currently trying to make a name for my Lord Raptor online in Darkstalkers Ressurection. If it wasn't for the GGPO netcode, it would a heck of a lot harder to get better at the game!

I contributed $30 and it feels good man. 360 users never did get the major patch so I didn't feel like getting back into it. We're finally getting a male character too! Take advantage of the awesome GGPO netcode and get yourself a training partner. If that person plays the same character as you, ask for advice. In my experience, no one is going to hand you skill on a silver platter. You have to make an extra effort to learn the mechanics but you should try to have fun doing it as well. Everytime I start a new fighting game like Darkstalkers Resurrection (just came out too), I practice things in training mode and then go online to learn and not stress over winning/losing too much. That comes later

    Castle Crashers Arcade Cabinet

If you are looking for some buttons and sticks I've got a couple of sites I recommend If you want Japanese style Sanwa buttons and sticks (which looks to be what the BBT cabinet is comprised of) you can order them from focusattack.com If you want oldschool American/Euro style parts, try paradisearcadeshop.com

    Street Fighter vs Tekken

It's OK, you can buy SFxT now . I'm having a good experience playing version 2013. Although I still get quite an amount of time overs online, that can be attributed mainly to my unfamiliarity towards the new metagame. As the game progresses, throws will play a larger role thanks to it now removing red health and Pandora will actually serve a purpose as it can be implemented in certain link combos.

    3DS game suggestions?

I'm very inclined to say this might be the best Harvest Moon yet. The game offers so many customization options for your farm. You can literally pick up your house and place it anywhere in your pasture. Many people agree that the game does start out a bit slow. This is to ease new players into the HM routine. You can pretty much sleep whenever you want though, so the first few days can go by relatively quick. Also Paper Mario SS is jawsome.

    3DS LL/XL Announced

The XL Dpad appears less concave than the original 3DS. The surface of the controls/device seem to be textured similarly to the DS Lite. (major improvement over the glossy airbrushed surface IMO). My hope is that Nintendo makes the buttons "mushy" like the DSL instead of "clicky".

    3DS LL/XL Announced

Nintendo really dropped the ball by not including a right thumbstick/triggers (yay for dedicated Circle Pad Pros?). However, it looks like they changed the Dpad, which should hopefully improve the functionality of Fighting and other dexterous 2D games . I'm not yet sure if I want this or not

    Team Fortress 2

I am so ready for the MvM update... The first pre-update splash page on teamfortress.com will have me sigh in relief. Anyone else just backed up on metal after playing so long without a major update? I've sworn off using refined and have been saving at least two duplicate weapons for when the new blueprints drop.

Stock Hori buttons are actually stiffer in feel when compared to Sanwas. Senstitivity is an important factor for stick users, which is why a lot of the crowd have moved on from the standard American/European Happ/IL (distinct long plunger and spring). I never particularly enjoyed the feel of stock Hori buttons, but some users may prefer them. The Tekken 6 stick in particular is wireless which may not be ideal for an execution demanding game like Skullgirls. In terms of stiffness I would rate these brands in order: 1.Happ/IL 2.Hori 3.Seimitsu 4.Sanwa (lightest) I haven't been playing Skullgirls much lately, but I am also waiting to see what the most optimized are for my characters. MS. Fortune has the potential for extremely high damage output in the corner! This hasn't been posted yet, but the official soundtrack for Skullgirls was released a little while back. You can get it on ITunes or Amazon MP3
  15. I can't say I agree with that concept if tied to a competitive philosophy. I do understand that not all competitive SSB players need to follow standards set by Smashboards or whatever in a private setting. I'd for sure be interested in watching a Smash tourney stream with items set on for the duration of the event. All I know is that this game needs Spike from Ape Escape 1!!

    NBA Baller Beats (Sports GOTY)

This game expresses my thoughts through groundbreaking virtual ecstasy. Finally. I can now be taken seriously as a gamer; if only because this work of art single-handedly speaks to my generation.

I have the XBLA version My Gamertag is Coolsword123. OK, this is hilarious. It's the VA's playing against each other. There's a bunch of them from the uploader (NSFW): I hope that one day, I'll get to hear "WHERE ARE MY EGRETS?" when fighting a Parasoul online.

As of now, I think the safest way to setup headless Ms. Fortune is during a combo with QCB+P. I haven't messed with it much in training mode though... Once in a blue moon, my opponent gets caught between Ms. Fortune and her head. Similiar to how Carl plays in BB, I then do s.MP, s.MK, s.HP loop over and over. If the opponent does not get hit, it becomes free pressure. The opponent is forced to pushblock in order to escape from blockstun. If the loop does hit, I usually go into s.HK launcher. The only problem is that the head seems to get in the way of an aircombo when I try this in the corner. The solution?
  19. CSword123

I finally got out of my comfort zone and started playing 2 character teams It's been tough finding a good assist though. Cerebella's Rush Punch seems good for getting in with Ms. Fortune. I haven't explored her detachable head combos just yet but word on the street is that she can do insane loops in the corner! I need to recognize situations where headless Fortune works better.

Hmm... Zugama, if you are having trouble with airdashes on a pad, have you tried setting 2 punches to a macro button? It may be easier than flicking the 360 control stick all around, especially when it comes to IAD's (instant air dashes). Peacock doesn't have the fastest airdash, but it still may be more reliable to dash with a button rather than double tapping left/right.

    Street Fighter vs Tekken

the Scramble Mode for the Xbox360 version was, or maybe still is broken. I'd rather not buy this game now though, if I get this, this By 2v2, I don't mean scramble mode. The pair play feature is where you and your partner tag out each others characters on screen. The overall pace of the match is similar to standard 1v1, only you and your partner must be aware of lifebars, meter, etc. When I play with a partner online, it makes matches more thrilling than usual. I can understand your predicament about some of these decisions... because... well... When I say "playing with a partner online", that means I can't partner up with a friend sitting next to me to fight opponents online because I own the 360 version! However, I don't think it is at all likely that Capcom would make a retail update to SFxT without first making it available as DLC (aka a GOTY edition). SSF4: Arcade Edition was basically this concept in motion. So with that in mind, I don't think the fans will hate Capcom as long as they support both old and new customers alike.

My bad With these sort of things, you are going to have to call the local gamestops in your area. If I may add my own experience, I started with an SE fightstick (same design as the Brawl), and decked it out with custom artwork and parts: http://forums.thebeh...__fromsearch__1 Then one day, I saw the TE on sale for $100. Man do I wish I started with that one first . I think saving up for a TE or similar is a good investment.

    Street Fighter vs Tekken

Capcom has stated that SFxT will be the only physical release in the series. Future content will be available through DLC (Except for the currently planned "DLC" that has been found to already be on the disk ) For all the hate that Capcom's been getting recently, I'm really enjoying SFxT. The 4 person 2v2 mechanic brings some exciting gameplay to the table.

By arcade pad, would you mean stick? (don't know of many gamepads that cost $100) If so, the best option for a low budget would probably be one of these: http://www.gamestop....awl-stick/89347 Keep in mind that they are not authentic Japanese parts, just Sanwa clones. If you were to purchase a JLF stick and 6-8 buttons to do a drop-in replacement, that would come around to $35-$40 more. Since the stock ones are Sanwa clones, however, you can make due with them for the time being, or if they decide to break on you. You won't be getting a tier list out of me any time soon! I play Fortune as well and I see what you mean about her having a tough time against the final boss. For her first two stages, i like doing endless cross ups with her j.LP and j.HP, so that she has a hard time tracking you with her homing attacks. Try to save your meter for her last stage though, because you will want to use her Feral Edge super (QCB+KK in the air) that should take nice chunks out of her health without missing.

I don't know much about Mike's MVC2 history apart from that he loves it dearly; a lot of the mechanics in Skullgirls are influenced by MVC2 sans the brokenness. He is probably more known in the Blazblue community for playing Tager (who was super low tier in CT) and made a hilarious tutorial video for Aksys that was included in every Special Edition of CT:
