  1. I'm not sure how it works in Germany; but here, the free offer was for a very limited time--I think until the 20th. Now, it's $5 here for previous owners. I'm guessing the 5-euro price tag you're seeing is the same thing. If you didn't get any grace period to get it free, then I agree it's unfair. See here. It looks like most of Europe got it on the 9th, but Germany was slow on approving it for release.
  2. Yes, it's very dumb. It isn't really classified as free, but rather as a purchase for a price of $0.00 plus tax (and any percentage tax on 0 is still 0). Since the lousy programmed logic sees it as a purchase, you need a payment method associated with your account to be able to get it. Sorry. I had no problem, because I already have a credit card associated with my Gold acct. I can see others getting miffed about it, though.
  3. It wouldn't be dumb if we could keep the 2 play paths separate. Since we can't, best leave the extensive 360 progress on the 360. I can always go back to it if I want.
  4. Same here. I mentioned that in one of the older threads in the other forum. 12 noon PDT corresponds to 3 PM here, and that sounds about right. Tried at 3 AM--nope. Again at about 10 AM--nope. Early afternoon--still nope. Damn! Went to do other stuff, and when I came back in the evening, it was FREE! as promised. Yay!
  5. Thanks! It makes perfect sense. I don't want to lose my current game on the One, but I have several advanced characters on the 360. I'm not sure what I'll do, yet. I have to think about it.
  6. I don't think a Gold acct is needed, only ownership of the 360 version of the game.
  7. I understand you're upset about losing your data, but it'd be nice if you calmed down about the situation. The Behemoth is not to blame for this, in my opinion, due to the fact that saves are on your profile. This makes it easier to play at another friend's house with your data without having to transfer all of the saves manually. Syncing isn't perfect, and that's why you should always double check before starting up your game. You writing off an entire company because of one glitch is a little hot-headed. They have fixed the game many of times over the years, such as making the game fair by getting rid of the 256 level glitch. They care about the customers, and name-calling won't get you very far. Again, I understand you're angry, but what's done is done, and learning to accept that can help you move on. Wow. This goof from years ago is still a thing? It's their fault for choosing that metadata morass of a profile to store the game data. Too many hands in that cookie jar, and eventually, things get borked, and when you get your profile from XBL, it doesn't contain everything it used to. GBX had issues too, when they chose to use the XBL profile to store BA-rank and other data, in Borderlands 2. A lot of people lost data there as well. They learned their lesson with Borderlands TPS. I know I'm replying to a post over a year old. It's still recent to me, because I haven't been here for years.
  8. Couldn't tell you, man. I have XBL Gold, and that has a credit card associated with it. The CC charge on my card was $0.00 plus tax, which is 6.5% where I live, 6.5% of 0 is 0. That's how they do it. I know, it's dumb. But whatcha gonna do?
  9. Good news! It's finally free for us former buyers. At least it was for me. Many thanks!
  10. Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if you had gone back on your word. This makes me feel better, but I'm still disappointed that I can't play the game yet (without paying full price for it yet again). I was looking forward to today. I hope the issue gets resolved soon.
  11. Well, it's showing up on XBL, but it's listed at $14.99 instead of FREE. The game image is a grey rectangle. I'm going to guess that it's just now going up, and they need to clean up a bit, finish the posting job. I'll check again in the morning. I'm off to bed.
  12. Yes! Terrific news. I would have settled for full frame rate (which makes such a difference in side scrollers). With the other improvements, it is sweet indeed. Thank you, (The) Behemoth! I will be watching for this Wednesday, now officially CC Remastered Day.
