What Is Wrong With Castlecrashers As Of Today.

Recommended Posts

How does a simple game like this lag while cod can support 6 v 6 games flawlessly unless the host quits. I wonder -_-

Depends what you mean by simple. Oftentimes you'll find yourself with a game creating several entities at a time which will not help with the framerate/bandwidth. I'm pretty sure that has to do with the lack of dedicated servers, too.

I think castle crashers was not properly optimized for online gaming. This task is rather difficult and is often better accomplished by corporations rather than independant devellopers like the behemoth. Maybe with castle crashers coming to steam we'll get a better playing experience.

I agree I'm not a computer expert but I know with better servers this game can be better supported online. I think after the tourny they should move on from cc and focus on making bbt great.

I love castle crashers and the only thing I want are some new DLC's while you aren't busy on big projects, for example when you're done with BBT you should do a Hatty Hatington character that you get the same way as alien hominid (onlinsight BBT instead of alien hominid)

I think there should be setting on PC for camera zoom level and customized fps cap. I have a small 120hz monitor and sometimes the zoomlevel is so close it's hard to play. I'd also like to run the game as fluid as 120 frames per sec. Please note this devs. Posting this in this thread cause for some reason I can't make my own topic.

Human eyes can't even notice a difference after like 30FPS. Why would you want 120?

Don't take any of this as an offense, but I think people like you are exactly what is wrong with PC gaming these days.

Not your hardware issues, but the part where you want to run a game at 120 FPS when it's absolutely useless to do so.

If you're stubborn and still want to try, I recommend shutting down explorer.exe before launching castle crashers. Should get you some nice FPS.

I'm not about graphics and techonolgy. I just think that the fluidity provided by 120 frames per second and different zoom level makes the game experience just better. And @Dropper Your Pocket: Human eye can easily see the difference between 30, 60 and 120 fps.

There's a "quote" button, you know. Everyone keeps treating this like it's Twitter or something. And you could have at LEAST gotten my name right. And you keep telling yourself that, then. I know that due to biological constraints, the naked human eye cannot perceive the difference between 60 FPS and 120 FPS. Your brain can't perceive changes in lighting fast enough to see the difference. And even if it could, it would be so minute that it would't even make a difference.

This is correct

This is very wrong.

The higher FPS = how much detail the eye is able to pick up while the image is in motion.

20=25 FPS is needed to show basic motions (silent films used a FPS of about 24.) motions in these films tends to be very choppy and studdery. but still motion is sensed to a low degree.

Thomas Edison has said an FPS below 46 can strain the eyes.

From 1927 onward 35 mm sound film was used with simple two-blade shutters to up the FPS to 48.

Now the usual for video is 72 FPS.

Looking at how these 3 different ages of movies looked, the human eye CAN tell the difference.

YAY FOR MOVIE HYSTORY! XD I learned a lot about FPS and the human eye in school. Plz dont misrepresnt what you think as facts. It makes you look very odd to us that do know the subject matter well.

Fals facts like...

I know that due to biological constraints, the naked human eye cannot perceive the difference between 60 FPS and 120 FPS. Your brain can't perceive changes in lighting fast enough to see the difference. And even if it could, it would be so minute that it would't even make a difference.

....should not be spread around....

Although I will agree 120 is not NEEDED for a game like CC but dont say people cannot tell the difference above 30Fps (which is less then half of the standard, and 18 points below what is known as norm to keep your eyes from straining. and only 6 frams faster then a silent film.)

Im pretty sure this topic was really just for PS3 and 360 interactions, not the problems people are having With their PCs or something they desire the PC version to do.

This is absolutely wrong, why do you think companies manufacture 120hz monitors, which cost a lot more to build, if the human eye couldn't perceive more than 60 fps? I've heard all kinds of different statements, some saying the human eye can't perceive more than 24fps, others saying it doesn't go beyond 30, 60, 100 or 120 fps and they would all be wrong.

I have a 120hz monitor myself and can set the refresh rate of it in the Nvidia settings, changing from 120 down to 60 makes quite a bit of a difference, even if it's not as big as the change from 60 down to 30.

This is not what he said, he said the human eye couldn't see the difference between, not that they can't see more than. If Pocket meant that you can't see more than 60fps, please, feel free to correct me.

Sorry about that, what I meant is that the human eye can tell the difference between 60 and 120fps, but that doesn't really change my argument.

Better, but since Dr. Pocket is one of the smartest people I know on these forums, I'm going to stay on his side.

Let me explain what I mean in more detail. Let's say someone i playing a game at 60FPS. That's awesome. Suddenly, it drops to 30FPS. That person will most definitely notice the drop. Now, if that same person were playing at, say, 120FPS, and suddenly, it drops to 60FPS. They're not going to notice the difference if they're actually playing the game. The naked human eye would not be able to comprehend the drop from 120FPS to 60FPS since it's so fast. I'm not saying you can't see that fast, because technically, you can. But, you wouldn't be able to look at the game you're playing and say for sure that it is 60FPS or 120FPS.

I wear glasses so this argument is completely irrelevant to me.

As do I.

So do I lol.

I would have to agree that when you're playing a game and it drops down to 60fps from 120fps you wouldn't be able to say that your fps have dropped by 60, but when you compare 2 moving images, one at 60fps and the other one at 120fps you would definitely be able to tell the difference. An example of a game where you will notice a huge difference is Counter Strike for instance, with 120fps gameplay plays and looks a lot smoother.

Then by fact that glasses add +10 to intelligence I motion that everyone wearing them is correct.

NURDZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Just kidding. And i still cant believe we are talking about Frames per second here.
