What Rare Games Do You Own?

Recommended Posts

Pretty much go to this website and see just how rare your video games (cuz to be frank: i could give less than a damn about your guitars) are. Just pick a console then type in your game(s). Not every game is in the database, just a warning. Oh and sorry Behemoth, Alien Hominid is pretty common.

Apparently, the rarest title I own is Pikmin 2. 86%

The highest I have is Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for the Nintendo Gamecube. 82%. I thought everyone owned that game.

Another surprising one was Super Mario World. 72%. Everyone that owns a Snes owns that game. Yet Super Metroid was only 42%. I just don't get it.

Is the higher the percent is, the rarer it is?

That's right.

Sorry about that, I changed it once I read the FAQs on the site.

Oh boy.

80% - Half-Life (PS2)

83% - Tomb Raider (PS1)

84% - God of War (PS2)

84% - Kingdom Hearts (PS2)

84% - Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (GBA)

87% - Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition (GCN)

91% - Pokemon Crystal (GBC)

93% - Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix with mat (GCN)

Not sure how this website determines its rarity level, though. EarthBound's at 61%. Here's my list with prices, instead:

$30 - Pokemon Crystal (GBC)

$30 - Super Mario Sunshine (GCN)

$31 - Luigi's Mansion (GCN)

$31 - Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness (GCN)

$33 - Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GCN)

$34 - Kirby Air Ride (GCN)

$36 - Half-Life (PS2)

$38 - Super Smash Bros. (N64)

$38 - Pokemon Colosseum Bonus Disc (GCN)

$45 - Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition (GCN)

$53 - Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GCN)

Still somewhat inaccurate, but a bit better. I didn't include any Wii/DS/PS3/PSP/360 games, since they're still new enough to be worth a lot.

Chrono Trigger for SNES. But I have doubts about that website.   Especially when earthbound is so low.

I had the Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition too. It's how I got into Majora's Mask, even though the game played somewhat weird. It lagged at random points and always froze at this certain part in the Great Bay Temple.

I miss the days of the Gamecube, Dreamcast, and PS2.

  1. Tomba! (Playstation) - 90%
  2. Kingdom Hearts (PS2) - 84%
  3. Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap [Lost somewhere, but I do own it] (GBA) - 84%
  4. Marvel Super Heroes (Playstation) - 81%
  5. Sonic Battle (GBA) - 80%
  6. Pokemon Trading Card Game (Gameboy Color) - 77%
  7. Brace Fencer Musashi (Playstation) - 77%
  8. Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness (Gamecube) - 76%
  9. Crash Bandicoot Warped (Playstation) - 73%
  10. Crash Bash (Playstation) - 72%
  11. Spyro 2 Ripto's Rage Greatest Hits (Playstation) - 71%
  12. Mega Man X4 (Playstation) - 71%
  13. Crash Bandicoot 2 (Playstation) - 71%

I didn't count regular Pokemon games, since I highly doubt that Pokemon Crystal is a 91% rarity...regardless, I knew that Tomba! was my rarest game before I even looked at anything else.  It's odd that they don't have a section for regular Xbox, though.

Pokemon Ruby is apparently 73%

I didn't bother going through all of my games, so some might be a surprise. I will also only list the games above 75%

PS1 - Digimon World 80%

PS1 - CTR: Crash Team Racing 76%

GBA - Sonic Battle 80%

DS - Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo Tales "Doesn't have a rarity"

Gamecube - Mario Party 5 78%

Gamecube - Mario Party 6 78%

Kind of strange system, as some games I have that pretty much nobody seems to have heard of are not rare at all.

Banjo Kazooie, the first 2 Donkey Kong Country games, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, and I think I have Star Fox Adventures somewhere.

I'll be here all week, folks.

Stop right there. Someone actually knew about Tomba?

And Crystal can't be that rare... Something aint right... And to make matters more awkward, my Sister-in-law owns a game even rarer than Crystal somehow.

Tomba! is one of my favorite games.  Ironic that a used copy of it is worth as much as a retail game that is brand new at full price right now.

Yeah, I know. The website seems to be a bit inaccurate in that respect.

My most rare game is Naval Ops: Warship Gunner - 75%. Its such a great game as well, I wish they'd release it on xbox with some achievements, I would spend another 300 hours on it lol.

I actually used to buy games and then resell them for a huge profit.

Right now my friend is doing it with the Metroid Prime Triology and he's making over 210% in net profit.

Well for me, I'm gonna go with Electroplankton and Game & Watch Collection (both 1 & 2) for DS, seeing as none of them are even on the website, haha.

I also own Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii, which has raised to $90 used on Amazon. It's not on the site though.

Unopened ones fetch a really pretty penny. Interestingly enough though, it's not considered a rare game.

Why would you pay that much though? You can buy the first 2 games for about $10-15, and the third one for $8.
