Castle Crashers Remastered Isn't Free For Me

Recommended Posts

So I've owned Castle Crashers on my 360 for a while now and beaten it multiple times, but when I tried to get the Remastered version on Xbox One it said that it costs $15. Anyone else having this problem/anyone know of a way to fix it?

The free promotion went live today at Noon PDT - before that time, you would not have been seeing it for free. Here are a couple of things you can look at.

First, make sure that you're signed in with the same Xbox Live Gold account that owns Castle Crashers on the Xbox 360. You may also need to reboot the Xbox One (just in case). Finally, you can sign in to the Xbox One website and see if it shows as free for you there. Some people were seeing it OK on the site before their Xbox One had updated:

Let me know if you're still having any issues!

I was able to go onto Xbox.com and download CCR for free without a Gold account  I don't know it this was a mistake or not, but either way, I'm happy with my free CCR  :-D

It wasn't working for me earlier either.  I came back later and it was free.

Same here.  I mentioned that in one of the older threads in the other forum.  12 noon PDT corresponds to 3 PM here, and that sounds about right.  Tried at 3 AM--nope.  Again at about 10 AM--nope.  Early afternoon--still nope.  Damn!  Went to do other stuff, and when I came back in the evening, it was FREE! as promised.  Yay!

I got the xbox 360 version, gold live membership and it says is free. But when i try to download it, it says i need to add a credit card.

Does this happended to anyone? If so, how did you do?

Yes, it's very dumb.  It isn't really classified as free, but rather as a purchase for a price of $0.00 plus tax (and any percentage tax on 0 is still 0).  Since the lousy programmed logic sees it as a purchase, you need a payment method associated with your account to be able to get it.  Sorry.  I had no problem, because I already have a credit card associated with my Gold acct.  I can see others getting miffed about it, though.

I live in Germany and I can't get the game for free. It's unfair, because I already have it on Xbox 360 and now it was just released a few days ago so I have to pay 4,99 € instead of getting it for free. It there any way I can send an E-Mail to someone at thebehemoth to get it for free like it should be?

I'm not sure how it works in Germany; but here, the free offer was for a very limited time--I think until the 20th.  Now, it's $5 here for previous owners.  I'm guessing the 5-euro price tag you're seeing is the same thing.  If you didn't get any grace period to get it free, then I agree it's unfair.

See here.  It looks like most of Europe got it on the 9th, but Germany was slow on approving it for release.
