Revon 211 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 Any show over 150 episodes turns me off to it. I just don't have that big of an attention span. I recently went back to watch Case Closed (Detective Conan) cuz I had remembered it from when I was a kid, only to be dismayed when I found it's over 800 episodes and still going. I have that same feeling...unless I've been watching the show since the beginning like with Hunter x Hunter and the first run of Fairy Tail. I think the only exception to this in my case was Gintama. I started watching the episodes weekly as they released back in the early 200's, and slowly worked my way up to that in between the weekly releases. I'm actually watching Fairy Tail. Had I not decided to watch it with two friends, I'd have dropped it by now.

Revon 211 Report post Posted August 12, 2014 Everyone shut up and go watch the Gintama movie right now. I've always wanted to get into this series but I can't do long-running sub shows. After finally getting around to watching the movie, I am so glad I did and I'm also really sad I don't understand Jap'n to watch the actual show.
Chris 1,206 Report post Posted August 22, 2014 Stuff like this is what keeps me coming back to Gintama. Cracks me up every time: Character Poll arc is best Gintama arc.
Chris 1,206 Report post Posted September 24, 2014 "You should enjoy the little detours. To the fullest. Because that's where you'll find the things more important than what you want." Man, am I going to miss Hunter x Hunter. My Tuesdays will be that little bit less exciting now that it's over. Although I have to say that I enjoyed every minute of it. I guess there's always the manga...even though I hear it goes on hiatus a lot. Also double post, because I wanted to ask if there're any shows you guys are watching right now that you would recommend.
Dropped Your Pocket 1,472 Report post Posted September 26, 2014 I don't know if I ever posted in this thread, but I enjoy anime every now and then, and am now getting into manga. My friend gave me the first thirteen episodes of Attack on Titan on DVD for free, and after finishing watching them, I learned there is like four times more content available in just the English manga, so I ordered the first six volumes off of Amazon, which will already have me reading past what I've watched. It's really quite an amazing anime, and I look forward to reading the manga, since I've heard there's a lot they missed in the anime (like usual).

It's really quite an amazing anime, and I look forward to reading the manga, since I've heard there's a lot they missed in the anime (like usual). Attack on Titan is great. I'm holding off on reading the manga until the anime gets finished, though. I realise I could be waiting a while. Anybody watching Terra Formars? I was looking forward to watching it on Crunchyroll, but their uploads are ridiculously censored. During the second episode, there was a whole 5 minute section of the show that was just black gradients across the screen. Usually, I can deal with CR's censorship. In JJBA, it was done subtly. Even though JJBA was censored, the video was never completely covered with black. Terra Formars censorship, on the other hand... ...is just awful. Black gradients, the anime. Dropped Your Pocket 1,472 Report post Posted October 4, 2014 I got Attack on Titan in the ,ail today, and I also had ordered the first five volumes of Deadman Wonderland after watching that anime and learning that it was never finished, so I wanted to read the manga. Sadly, the manga just started getting translated by Viz, since it was only translated up to where the anime left off (big surprise), so it won't be completed for probably another year or so, since they're releasing it on a bimonthly schedule. Those volumes arrived in the mail a couple days ago (even though I ordered them after AoT, way to go Amazon), so I look forward to reading those as well. I have now run into a major problem, though: I have nowhere to put books. I don't have a bookcase anymore, so it looks like a trip to IKEA is in the near future. GoldenGhost 2,058 Report post Posted October 9, 2014 Attack on Titan is great! but I missed a few episodes on the television and apparently SPOILER ALERT Spoiler Eren is dead? you know you could make a spoiler tag by typing " (insert spoiler here) [%spoiler]" but replace the % with a / (backslash). Alternatively you could click the "Special BBCode" button in the text editor and then click the arrow and select "Spoiler". Then type whatever you want in there and it'll put it in a spoiler for you. Just letting you know, since that is kind of a significant spoiler...

Revon 211 Report post Posted October 13, 2014 If any of you guys like comedy, I'd definitely recommend The Devil is a Part-Timer! (Hataraku Maou-sama!). It's only 13 episodes long, so it doesn't drag on, and has a great dub if you prefer watching in English. The plot is simple and funny in its own regard and maintains consistent humor throughout. I'd recommend watching it with a friend or two, as well, because that seems to make it more enjoyable in my experience, as you'd expect with most comedies. Dropped Your Pocket 1,472 Report post Posted October 14, 2014 Has anyone here read or watched Seven Deadly Sins? I'm thinking about picking it up and wondered if it was any good or not.
GoldenGhost 2,058 Report post Posted October 14, 2014 Has anyone here read or watched Seven Deadly Sins? Is that like reading about/watching a kid eat lots of McDonalds food while typing up insults on the internet and watching porn and spending his parents' money on amazon.com because he's jealous of his friends' belongings, all done very proudly of himself and while he should've been doing homework? Somewhat related: I've been violently coercing encouraging my friend to watch FMA and he's reluctantly accepting really enjoying it, and then I realized I should watch it again, so I've started doing that. It's weird watching the original after seeing Brotherhood though.

Chris 1,206 Report post Posted October 23, 2014 I remember watching Berserk as a child, my mother was not happy, I could almost say she went Berserk! I didn't get interested in Berserk until a few years back. I don't even remember how I found it, I just started reading the manga one night and got hooked. The original anime was okay. I think the best thing about the English dub was the outtakes (including screw ups from the voices of Goku and Dr. Eggman...a little NSFW): The 2012 & 2013 films were much better...even the English dubs are good, and include the voice actors from the original series! The first one is a little tough to get through, as 3D animation is often used in place of 2D, but the second and third films make good use of both styles.
