Roy-G-Biv 447 Report post Posted June 2, 2010 What seems to be inspired by every mario game evar, and then some. NOW IT'S A CROSSOVER. LINK JOINS THE BATTLE. You have the basic suits in SMB3Yoshi from SMWSome enemies from SMB2Random Nintendo CameosCreating your own levels and worlds and whatnot.Same screen Co-Op as seen in NSMBWScreen splits during Co-Op should one player go too far ahead/behind, or if one goes into a pipe while the other does not.Good gameplayA battle mode which is probably the equivalent of a mario deathmatch mode. Jesus Christ, this even beats Super Mario Crossover. However, you have to download it. http://supermariobrothers.org/smbx/ Don't bother with any other game on that website. Also, extra levels and cool stuff. http://trekweb.org/smbx-forum/
Babbity_Rabbity 5 Report post Posted June 2, 2010 I love platformers. I love Mario games that aren't the cheesy sports ones. Consider it downloaded. I will post a review or something later.
Zwolf11 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2010 I just downloaded and started playing it today. Saw it on dorkly.com. seems really fun, but I suck at mario so I'm only on the first castle. I'll have to play it co-op with my friends later to see if I can get further. Pretty good so far, but I assume it gets better the further you get. Babbity_Rabbity 5 Report post Posted June 2, 2010 So far I've had to restart the second level 5 times because: 1) I'll randomly lag and speedwalk into a goomba 2) The jump button will stop working 3)The jump button will stop working while I'm swimming

I did, and I have yet to encounter numbers 2 and 3. However, number 1 probably happens because the program isn't really optimized. Hey! Sounds like I need to register to their forums and report a problem!

I set the controls to WSAD movement with J for jump and K for run.

Abyssmal Cookie 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2010 Loving this game right now. The metroid boss is pretty cool, but I've yet to beat it. How far is everybody else? And I think there's a level editor there somewhere, so we could probably share custom levels with each other.
Zugama 29 Report post Posted June 6, 2010 Played the first few levels, it is good. I like the two player mode in it.
Roy-G-Biv 447 Report post Posted June 6, 2010 And I think there's a level editor there somewhere, so we could probably share custom levels with each other. That popup window that appears when you open the file has 2 buttons. Start Game Level Editor. We can definitely share levels. We can even have custom music and graphics if you're that good. I'm in the middle of making an epic airship episode.

Roy-G-Biv 447 Report post Posted June 6, 2010 Awesome! And custom music and graphics? That's amazing! Can't wait to see what you come up with. It'll take a while. It took a good amount of time learning how to activate events, and whatnot. And making the airship move. I made a goomba, and if you step on it, it displays a message mocking Mario (I made that myself!). It's not that complicated though.

CastleCrashingGuru 15 Report post Posted June 7, 2010 I hope in all honesty that they add online co-op. It would be god damn insane if you could make your own level, share it with a friend and play through it together.

There's also a chat feature within the Level Editor, where you can communicate with the SMBX community. Basically it needs Remote IP address, Port, Password to the host's server if he set one, and your nickname. Hahahaha. I luv SMBX even moar. If you wanna beta test my (first) level, PM me. Abyssmal Cookie 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2010 Bleh. It's not letting my reply to your PM. Should I just post my ideas here then?..Or some other way? It's pretty cool so far. And it's only a little unfair at the airship, then it's a bit more unfair at the boss. Do hammers or fire actually hurt him or only bob-ombs?

You can even finish it in seconds if you happen to time the hammers right. Hammers typically hit Bowser 2 or 3 times per shot. So really, in the beginning, it's real unfair for the boss. And post your ideas here.

When I was trying through I figured you'd changed it, so I tried using the bob-ombs and got screwed. If you could, I'd like to see a toad actually fall. Although that may be hard to do. As for level names... Shooting Star Dull Nebula White Dwarf Dim Star Bright Star Shining Star Stellar Drop Stellar Ship A Grassy Plain Back To The Stars Galactic Castle They aren't that great, but they could help you think of better names.
